“We try to use local ingredients, from the basic ingredients malt and hops and special ingredients what we use every day in Chinese cuisine: different spices, teas and Chinese stories to name our beers as well”, once said co-founder of Great Leap Brewing Liu Fang in her interview to CGTN America.

When it comes to the product distribution, packaging becomes vital. Now customers can shop online, in supermarkets and buy beer in cans, or taste it at brewpubs from kegs. Great Leap Brewing has recently incorporated lightweight and non-returnable PET kegs. The company produces them at its brand-new brewery in Tianjin, inaugurated in 2019!

This is the point where stretch cooperation between PET Technologies, Great Leap Brewing and Petainer started. Now one of the largest breweries in Asia produces 20 L Hybrid petainerKegs at APF-30 blow molder developed by PET Technologies!

The use of one-way Hybrid kegs permits to deliver the malty drink with Chinese spirit to restaurants and pubs without return logistics. It helps to save up to 40% on logistics in comparison with steel keg. Moreover, Great Leap Brewing manufactures easy to lift 20 L containers with complex shape at its own facilities!

PET Technologies PET kegs blowing machine APF-30, equipped with air recuperation system, significantly reduces operational cost. Intensive and deep heating of thick-walled preforms between 400 and 700 g multiplied by innovative air cooling system provide uniform temperature distribution from outer to inner preform wall. 100% of compressed air from high-pressure line is reused in low-pressure line!

Great Leap Brewing, founded in 2010 by Carl Setzer and Liu Fang, has 5 locations in China. They produce over 60 unique brews like Pale Ale #6 (or Chinese Pale Ale) with fresh hop aromas, citrusy and floral Hidden General Ipa, spiced Honey Ma Gold. The variety of beer changes by season depending on the availability of ingredients.
