Mundo PMMI: fruitful cooperation between a Mexican company REMSA and PET Technologies

Now REMSA has 3 PET stretch blow molding machines produced by PET Technologies and covers 40% of market at southeast Mexico. The company manufactures and sells preforms, caps, PET and HDPE bottles, PET water cooler bottles. The company covers such states as Yucatán, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Tabasco y Chiapas.

For PET Technologies, REMSA was the first customer in Mexico and among the first ones in Latin America. This involved certain uncertainties for the buyer and certain challenges for the seller. Step-by-step we overcome them. REMSA’s visit to the PET Technologies plant cleared all the doubts.

“APF-3002 attracted our attention due to its performance and its price, though it was not the lowest one, it was the most competitive on terms of benefits it provided and cost-benefit relation”, remembers Sergio Mañé Rendón, bottles manufacturing plant director.

REMSA obtained several important benefits with the installation of PET Technologies equipment:

• Energy consumption savings: 30% reduction achieved once the machines installed;
• Bottles manufacturing increased from 2.5 million to 7 million bottles per month;
• Sustainability: use of recycled content;
• Each container weight reduced up to 10%.

Service support provided by machinery supplier is another point that Plant Director Sergio Mañé Rendón highlighted. It is the key factor to decide in favor of each new blow molding machine for 0.2 – 2.0 L bottles. Now REMSA has 2 machines with output 3000 bph each (APF-3002 model) and 1 machine with output 6000 bph (APF-6004 model).
